Read selective books
Books are treasure of knowledge. Books empowers us by increasing information, techniques, skills so on and so forth. So we need to read books as much as possible. However, it is important to note that we should not read all the books we have. There is innumerable number of books that we cannot read all of them in our life. So, we must be selective in our reading. We should read those books which delighted us. We should select those books to read which have capability to give us a new height. During selecting our books we should have a goal. Why are we going to read a particular book? Is this book can be able to quench my thirst? Such type of questions we need to ask ourselves. And if the answer is ‘yes’ then we can go for it. I have many books that I have bought to read, but when I felt that they were not written for my goal, I immediately set them aside.
Give value to your money
Money has no value unless we bestow value in it. But how we make money a valuable thing? It is very simple. Use your money for purposeful deeds. Purposeful things like spend your money for your health, buy books and bookshelf, give money to your aging parents, help those who are needy, invest money for your child’s education. Join a course on personal development and well-being. These are some examples of purposeful use of money that you will feel fulfillment and serenity during your old age. You will discover the value of every penny of your money. It will give you a meaningful life that majority people cannot think. You must not spend your hard earned money only for trivial things. You must not spend your money so that after sometime you have to repent as ‘waste of money’.
Search for new areas of study
Study enlarges the knowledge arena. More you read more you will be able to grab more knowledge. But one important thing is that, never be confined to your known subjects of study. You have to search for newer areas of study. I mean, if you are a student of political science, try to study psychology, or economics, or geography. Jump out your known boundary to unknown and feel the difference. It will develop your mental faculties too.
Keep opening your eyes and ears
Books are the source of knowledge. Still you would not be able to learn everything from books. Even you cannot read sufficient number of books you want, because your life is short. So you have to keep your eyes and ears open if you want to learn maximum. If you want to get yourself a step ahead of others then you must have to keep open your eyes and ears. It will help you learn from your surroundings, from your neighbors, from your by-passers etc.
Try to become an expert
Regardless of your area you should try to become
an expert. It does not matter whether your area of interest is small or big.
The important thing is to make yourself bigger in your existing area. If you look around, you can see that there are many doctors but people prefers the experts,
there are many professors but students chose their books written by experts,
etc. During a disaster or crisis nations expect suggestions from the experts only.
